Working with people – whether wellbeing coaching, storytelling or in placement counselling, I find that, just like myself, high sensitives are often not well supported and frequently misunderstood. ALL of the people I have worked with in recovery have been high sensitives (with sensory processing sensitivity) who have not had the right kind of help, caregiving, environment and support through life to help them to balance their nervous systems. Yet, we make up around 15-20% (according to Dr Elaine Aron here of the world’s population.

I really like the work of Irene Lyons in relation to healthy nervous system regulation, neuroplasticity and trauma. Here is her latest You Tube that talks about we Highly Sensitive people. She also offers lots of free resources to tune up your nervous system and more healthily self-regulate.
